Roof restoration I

Course Description

This class will be beneficial to roofing contractors, commercial property owners & managers, specifiers, insurance adjustors, roofing materials distributors & salespeople, commercial property inspectors and anyone else who wants to better understand roof restoration versus replacement. When considering replacing an existing roof, building owners should know all their options. This class will cover the three phases of a roof’s life and the options available during each phase. 


REPAIR – RESTORE – REPLACE 


When a roof is near, or at the end of its useful life important decisions must be made. This class will help all stakeholders better understand commercial roofing systems and the factors affecting restorability. Real -life scenarios, observation and analysis techniques along with hands on training will be a part of the content offered in this two-day class.


Learning Objectives


  1. Describe the basic roofing components and how they are integrated into commercial roofing systems. 
  2. Review the most common types of commercial roof materials, systems and restoration techniques. 
  3. Explain the advantages and disadvantages of each type of restoration type in order to help customers make the best decision for their facility. 
  4. Evaluate the critical factors that shape considerations for roof restoration. 
  5. Describe common and special considerations that need to be addressed for the restoration of a commercial roofing system to ensure optimal performance, energy efficiency, and system sustainability.
